DESCRIPTION:October 15 from 10 am to 12:30 pm: “Discover Your Inner Songwriter” Presenters: Michael Minard \, master composter and Phyllis Ross\, master teacher. This collaborative workshop requires no musical experience. Led by Michael and Phyllis\, we will become a small community of songwriters making lyrics and melody from a mix of our ideas and experiences. Writing together and listening to each other’s words\, we take lines and phrases that magically find their way into the music and lyrics of a wonderful song. You’ll be amazed at how much fun this technique is! \nAll presentations are Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Bedford Hills Train Station. \nBedford Residents $20 Non-Bedford Residents $25 Proceeds from the low cost of our presentations go toward building our programs and keeping them affordable. DESCRIPTION:The Stepping Stones Foundation will stage two performances of “Bill W. & Lois W.: Their Journey in Letters\,” at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday\, September 24\, 2022\, at the Walker Center for the Arts at The Harvey School. This inspiring play tells the eventful and hopeful life stories of Bill and Lois Wilson\, the co-founders\, respectively\, of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups. \nThe play readings will support Stepping Stones\, the National Historic Landmark at 62 Oak Road in Katonah\, and feature acclaimed actors and local residents John Bedford Lloyd and Anne Twomey Lloyd among the cast of professionals. The race starts at 8 am at the corner of Edgemont and The Parkway. Pre-registration costs $30. If you sign up after Sept 9th\, the price increases to $35. 5K registrants aged 13-18 pay $20 to participate. \nKIDS 1-MILE: Kids aged 12 and under are encouraged to run the 1-miler that starts at 9:00am at the corner of Edgemont and The Parkway.  Pre-registration for the 1-mile race costs $10.
